Stallion Top Films of 2007

I’m posting my top films of 2007 and the entire list of films that I watched in 2007.

1. There Will Be Blood
2. No Country for Old Men
3. Killer of Sheep
4. The Wind that Shakes the Barley
5. The Savages
6. Zodiac
7. The Man from London
8. Michael Clayton
9. I’m Not There
10. Eastern Promises
11. Control
12. Lust, Caution
13. Stellet Licht
14. Margot at the Wedding
15. Sunshine

Why 15? Well, I got to 10 and I thought that there were some more films that needed a mention. I think it was a great year for being a cinephile. I have five, 5 star movies. That is pretty good. I can’t think of another year when there were that many movies that I loved get released. The fact that one of the films, There Will Be Blood, vaulted Paul Thomas Anderson into a spot as one of my favorite directors is worth noting. Though Killer of Sheep was shot in 1977, it didn’t have it’s theatrical release until 2007, and while The Man from London and Stellet Licht haven’t been released yet I thought it would be fine to include them.

also ran… Knocked Up, Away from Her, The King of Kong, The Darjeeling Limited…

  1. great great list! make my “2007 book summary” i’ve been putting off look ridiculous and lame.

    nice “stallion” too.

  2. I think you should change your name to, “Dude, he’s the Gelding.”

  3. How about this list.

    1. There Will Be Blood (Hence for known as “TWBB” or There Will Be ‘Breviations)
    2. TWBB
    3. Eastern Promises
    4. No Country for Old Men
    5. The Savages*
    6. TWBB

*Watched this movie on Friday night after work. Ruined the rest of the weekend for me. Thats why youre number 5, stupid Savages.

  4. Im seriously annoyed I dont see your review of There Will Be Blood up yet. Im more dissapointed in you than when the Church of the 3rd Revelation didnt get it’s $5,000 (with interest). You deserve an oil field slap down.

  5. As pennace, Id like 500 words on the “Drama at the Step Show” Genre of films. Discuss history, ethnic and cultural importance, and compare and contrast to the Busby Berkley/Bathing Beauty films of the 1940’s.

  6. […] Be Blood, written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, is a masterpiece and my favorite film of 2007. I could probably leave it at […]

  7. […] I liked the film quite a bit and if I had seen it in 2007 then I would have placed it in my top movies list. […]
